Cow Doll Sewing Pattern Review Adorable Etsy Patterns
Cow Doll Sewing Pattern and Review: I’ve been bitten by the sewing bug lately. Maybe Joann’s closing has reminded me how much I love sewing. I began my hunt for what to sew.
I was looking for an easy sewing project and gift for one of my granddaughters (she collects cow things). When looking for a sewing pattern, I scrolled through pages of the cutest sewing patterns on Etsy.

Then, I stumbled upon the cutest cow doll design. I knew I just had to bring it to life. I’m excited to share my experience creating this adorable stuffed cow. Was the pattern utterly (udderly) amazing, or did it leave me feeling a little calf-hearted? Let’s dive in!
Welcome to my latest sewing project!

Skill level for Pattern
The cow doll sewing pattern is beginner and up. If you can sew a straight line, sew curves, turn fabric, and know a little hand stitching, you’ve got this! Plus, know your fabric sides: the right side and wrong side of fabrics. Note: With the pattern, she has a sewing guide (with images) to take you through the process.
But if you don’t sew, the pattern designer makes and sells dolls in her Etsy shop. Welcome to her world of magical, unique dolls and patterns.
This PDF pattern comes with very detailed instructions and step-by-step photos! This is very helpful, no matter what level of sewer you are!

Supplies and Fabrics For The Cow Sewing Project
The supply list is with the pattern! Here’s what I used to make the easy sewing project:
- Now, for the fabrics. I used cotton/muslin for the body.
- I used cotton fabrics with prints for the shirt, shorts, bow, and the cow ears.
Walmart offers a good selection of Waverly fabrics. Find convenient 1-yard and 2-yard cuts that are ideal for projects like this.
You can use pretty cotton scrap fabrics if you have enough. - Find cute cow print materials and ribbons, plus other fabrics on Etsy.
- You will need basic sewing thread, sewing scissors, and a fabric marker or pencil.
- The cow shoes are made of felt. And the cheeks are felt. I highly recommend getting this felt from Benzi. It is high-quality felt that is perfect for this project!
- You will need embroidery thread and a needle for the face. The embroidery hoop is optional.
- I highly recommend a fabric turning tool like this or a set like this, long tweezers, and a dowel with a pointed end. It will make turning the fabric inside out to the right side after sewing so much easier to do!!!
- Another thing I recommend when sewing patterns like this is safety pins. These help thread the elastic through a sewn channel and help keep it in place until the ends are sewn together.
I further customized her with iron-on sewing labels. With Love From Grandma!
Practice makes perfect! Even if you make a few mistakes, the more you sew and practice using sewing patterns, the better you get! And the easier they become.
How long did it take me to make the craft project?
Well, it’s hard to say as I didn’t track time. The project began with printing and cutting the pattern. Then, I pinned and cut the fabric, embroidered the face, and added the felt cheeks.
Next, I followed the instructions for sewing the head, body, clothes, and felt shoes. Besides doing my normal house stuff, cleaning and cooking… I managed to sew this project over two days.
What would you name your stuffed cow doll?
Here are a few cow names we considered: Mootilda, Clover, Bessie, Buttercup, MooZart, Elsie, Honey, Oreo, and drumroll please… We named her Daisy!
I dropped Daisy off with her new owner, my granddaughter, and she loves her! I can’t wait to see where she put Daisy in her room’s decor.
Hello Daisy!
Would I use this sewing pattern again?
Yes! And it can be used to sew and sell them (using the terms described in the sewing pattern). Yeah, for craft show crafters and small shop crafters!
This Bunny Doll Pattern is my latest sewing project! It is an adorable fabric bunny with felt shoes and a market bag filled with carrots!
Here I go, onto another cute sewing pattern. This one is a bunny I’m making for Easter and spring. I purchased the sewing pattern bunny bundle with the bag and carrots. I was hoping to get it done sooner to share it with you, but I got sick after helping my family. I’ll share it ASAP.
