Cotton Candy Popcorn Bars
I can’t believe my baby is turning 16 years old in May. Sweet 16! You might remember our Cereal Bars treat recipe Gone are those days. Now, celebrations always come with a few added friends, or groups of them, plus tons of treats, and snacks. We made a run through of the recipe using Organic Nearly Naked Popcorn. We received this product for free to use in our recipe, and will be compensated.
In all honesty we couldn’t wait for our popcorn treat to set up. We snacked on popcorn while watching our latest binge show. Why organic popcorn? It’s so good just for snacking on. I like it because it’s organic, and Sammie loves it because it reminds her of fresh popped theater popcorn. (without the butter)

How to make Marshmallow Popcorn Bars
You will love how easy this popcorn treat idea is. You can switch out the candy melts colors, and candy sprinkles to suit your themes, or for seasonal treats.
Step 1
Pre spray your baking dish with non stick spray, and set to side.
Step 2
- Layout all your supplies, and measure them.
- NOTE: This recipe makes a 8 x 7 or 8 x 8 dish size. As it was a run through original recipe. Double for a larger batch to fit into a 9 x 13 size pan.
You’ll want to have all your cotton candy popcorn supplies laid out. When your working it’s a quick melt, dump, stir, add, stir, and get into your glass pan popcorn treat recipe.
Ingredient Measurements for popcorn bars
Pre-measure your ingredients.
- 1/8 – 1/4 cup of cotton candy flavoring (we used a 1/4 but, I would adjust just slightly under 1/4 cup)
- 1/4 cup of candy sprinkles
- 1/4 of blue candy melts
- 1/2-1 cup of white chocolate chips (we used 1 cup)
- 4 cups marshmallows
- 3 cups popcorn + up to 1 cup extra to stir in as needed (4 cups total)
- 1 cup popcorn reserved for blue candy melt topping
Step 3
- Add your organic popcorn into your big mixing bowl
Step 4
- Next add your measured marshmallows into the microwave on high for one minute.
- Take out and stir then heat until melted 35-60 more seconds.
Step 5
- Add your melted marshmallows to your big bowl of popcorn. Stir well.
Step 6
- Next add your cotton candy flavoring 1/8 cup to 1/4 cup max. to your melted popcorn mixture, and stir. You don’t want it overly soggy. Or use cotton candy flavoring oil, read label for recommended usage. Make slight adjustments to recipe as needed. Ensure that popcorn is coated well but, not overly saturated by cotton candy syrup.
Step 7
- Then add in your 1 cup white chocolate chips. If your popcorn, and melted marshmallows seems like it’s a bit overly wet, your mixture needs more popcorn (like image above) add up to 1 cup more. We ended up using a total of 4 cups for our recipe for the smaller baking dish.
Step 8
- Add in your measured about 1/4 cup candy sprinkles, and stir completely.
Step 9
- Add into your pre sprayed dish, and press down gently to compact mixture.
Step 10
- Melt your (blue or other color) candy melts carefully either in the microwave or in your candy melting pot. ( In microwave, it doesn’t take long to heat but, chocolate melts can burn easily. TIP- Heat 30 sec. stir, heat 30 sec. stir…until done- do it like this or it can burn!) If you have a candy melting pot, follow directions for melting.
- (sorry I didn’t have time to grab images of this step)
Step 11
- Take your other clean bowl of measured popcorn, and add your blue (or other color) melted candy into the popcorn, and stir until fully coated. Then layer on top of the pink popcorn.
Step 12
- Next Add more sprinkles to the top of your popcorn mixture in the dish.
Let cool completely. Cover to store, at room temperature to serve later. Best within 24-48 hours for best freshness.
Or Cut into popcorn bars to serve.
This tastes like the pink popcorn bars you get from the circus. It’s totally sweet, a slightly sticky, and a lot of party scrumptious.
