Who is ready for an easy delicious apple crisp recipe? I thought so. Apple season is the perfect time to make a fresh homemade apple crisp. Make and serve this easy dessert, Apple Crisp in Mason Jars at home, brunches, or put them into a picnic basket and head off to the park or beach.

The weather is milder for a lot of areas. Not to mention who doesn’t enjoy being outdoors in the fall? But, this baking recipe is great any time of year! One of our favorite things to do is head out to the beach. But, bringing my full 9×9 dish of homemade apple crisp isn’t ideal. What is? Baking apple crisp in mini mason jars. This is one easy recipe you’ll love to make and take!

Whether you are in your having a family gathering, at the park, or beach this is an ideal way to serve and impress. The portions are perfect being single-serve. They are easy to stack and take without adding to the environment’s trash heap. Or serve your guests by lining them up on a pretty tray. Best of all this is delicious without or even with ice cream!

Apple Crisp In Mason Jars

Mason Jar Apple Crisp is an easy dessert treat recipe perfect for fall, apple season or anytime you have fresh apples. Easy to make, take and enjoy or make it at home in a baking dish.

Apple Crisp in Mason Jars is so easy to make and take. Perfect for anytime you have fresh apples. If you prefer you can also make this in a baking dish. Easy, delicious and always great in the fall during apple picking season!

Prep Time 15 minutes
Cook Time 30 minutes
Additional Time 10 minutes
Total Time 55 minutes

Ingredients

  • 4 cups of sliced apples
  • 12- 4 oz mason jars
  • 1 cup of sugar
  • 1 teaspoon of cinnamon
  • 1 tablespoon of flour

Topping

  • 1 cup of rolled oats
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1/4 cup of melted butter

Instructions

Preheat oven to 350

  1. In a bowl combine flour, sugar, and cinnamon. 
  2. Coat apples with the mixture. 
  3. Spray mason jars with pam cooking spray.
  4. Place a few coated apples in each jar. I fit about 4-5 apple slices.
  5. In another bowl combine topping: rolled oats, flour, brown sugar, baking soda, and baking powder. 
  6. Mix well. 
  7. Pour melted butter over the mixture.
  8. Top each mason jar with topping mixture.
  9. Place all mason jars on a baking sheet. 
  10. Bake for 30 minutes or until the top is golden brown and apples are tender.

Notes

An alternative way to make this is to add the prepared apples into a baking dish, presprayed with your non-stick spray and follow all the same directions above.

If serving at home you can top this with vanilla ice cream or whipping cream.

INGREDIENTS

  • 4 cups sliced apples
  • 12-4 oz. mason jars
  • 1 cup of sugar
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 tablespoon flour

  •  1 cup rolled oats
  •  1 cup brown sugar
  •  1/4 tsp. baking soda
  • 1/4 tsp. baking powder
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1/4 cup of melted butter

Start with fresh-picked apples or store-bought apples.

Easy Dessert Recipe Apple Crisp Cinnamon Sugar and Apples

Combine, flour, sugar, and cinnamon and coat your apples by mixing them.

This is the part the kids can even help with, let them pour and stir for you. But, I can’t guarantee they won’t grab a sugared cinnamon apple and run away.

After the apples are fully coated with the flour, sugar, and cinnamon follow the steps below!

  1. Prior to adding apples to the mason jars, don’t forget to spray mason jars with Pam cooking spray.
  2. Place a few coated apples in each jar.
  3. Then make the topping mixture and pop it into the oven.

  1. I love how easy this looks! My favorite thing about Fall is the abundance of all things apple. Well, that and Pumpkin flavored everything.

    1. There’s a link to them in the post. You can get them on Amazon with free shipping on some with Prime. Hope that helps. If you live near a Walmart they may have some still in stock? But, it’s getting to the end of canning season. Which means it might be hit or miss there.
