What sides go well with sheet pan salmon?
Roasted vegetables like asparagus, broccoli, or Brussels sprouts are excellent choices. Quinoa or rice also make great accompaniments.
Other sides we love for salmon are jasmine rice, making a green salad or green beans, and even picking side dishes like our favorite beet salad with cucumbers and tomatoes or this beet salad recipe. Or from other Salad recipes.

Supplies
Sheet pan (my favorite), aluminum foil, a meat thermometer, a spatula, measuring spoons, a knife for slicing citrus fruits, and oven mitts. Also, any small kitchen tools for the sides.
You can experiment with different herb combinations. Rosemary and oregano also pair beautifully with salmon. For a spicier kick, add a pinch of red pepper flakes. I have several other salmon recipes at the end of this post.
You can use grapefruit or limes as substitutions for the citrus flavor.
When purchasing salmon, look for fillets that are firm and vibrant in color. Fresh or frozen salmon will work for this recipe. Need more help here’s an article.
How To Cook Salmon In The Oven
Directions
Preheat the oven to 400F
Get out the supplies and slice the lemons and oranges.
- Line the sheet pan with aluminum foil, drizzle with olive oil on the lined sheet pan, and add a few lemon and orange slices to the tray. Then place the salmon on the citrus slices.
- Add a small drizzle of olive oil to the salmon. Sprinkle salmon with 1 teaspoon of the herbs, top with additional citrus slices, and let your oven do the work.
- Insert the prepared sheet pan with salmon… into the oven. Bake the salmon at 400F for about 15 minutes. The salmon is cooked when it flakes easily with a fork and reaches an internal temperature of 145°F (63°C).
If the salmon is thicker on one side than the other you can cut it into portions. That is what I did.
After cooking for 15 minutes remove the cooked portion that has reached the proper internal temperature (I use a meat thermometer like this to test the temperature) and continue to bake the thicker portion(s)(as needed) until they are done.
Using oven mitts, carefully remove the salmon from the oven. Allow it to rest for a few minutes. Then, gently slide a spatula (or knife) between the skin and the cooked, flaky fish to separate the meat.
Serve portions on a plate with your side dishes and additional lemon, cut into wedges for squeezing onto the salmon.
Serve with your favorite sides and enjoy!
Sorella Spices
I was sent these spices (Sorella Spices) to try for free. In today’s recipe, we used the Veggie Blend. The seasoning blend has sea salt, garlic, parsley, lemon juice powder, thyme, tarragon, and dill. It was the perfect blend for salmon.
I tried using the other spices when I was cooking recently: Italian Blend in my pasta sauce. The Fiesta Blend (my fav) in my smothered chicken and chicken fajitas. They are flavorful and delicious! Plus, easy to use by shaking them out or measuring. Which spice would you get? Or grab a set.
Have you ever heard of them or tried their spices?
