Home Office Ideas For Her Ideas & Tips!
Home Office Ideas For Her Are you ready to update your office? Or create a dedicated office space for yourself?
My office space has changed over the years and although I have a space for my computer in a nook in the kitchen I didn’t have a room for working or dedicated office space.
Now that my daughter has graduated college and moved I have her old bedroom (which is smaller) I have added office space and moved my sewing into that room. I also plan on having this space for my daughter when she comes to stay on extended visits as she works remotely and needs a room to work from.

Keep It Simple
What type of office space do you need in the home?
- Do you need a room closed off from the living space?
- Can you convert a closet into a desk area?
- Is there a corner space or nook you can create an office?
Depending on why you work from home, if you have kids or distractions in the home decide how much space you need.
Make an office space you want to work in!
- Make your space functional and aesthetically pleasing.
Sitting for extended periods isn’t good for the body. Make sure to have a good, supportive desk chair, and consider getting a standing electric desk (with adjustable height). Find my desk lamp in my LTK shop. ISee our other favorite picks for home office decor here.
Sammie got the same standing electric desk only bigger (55 inches) for her house and a walking pad. She works while walking during part of her work day.
Will you be working in a dedicated room/office space? Paint it with colors that invoke working and creativity.
What color to paint an office?
Pick a Color and Set The Mood
Soft greens: Are associated with nature and tranquility. Sage, mint, moss, and olive green are calming colors and suited for concentration.
Blues: Calming and relaxing. Known for reducing stress and improving focus.
Pinks: Energizing and good for creativity.
Yellows: Are good for happiness and optimism, which can boost your mood and creativity (use them sparingly and pick soft yellows).
Purples: Use colors such as lilac and lavender. They are good for creativity and imagination.
Picking a color for your office is a personal preference. Pick colors that you love. And that will inspire you to work and create.
How can you create a space with personal style?
Pro Tip: Create a mood board/style board. This can help you visualize the room you are trying to create. Use programs like Canva and Pinterest for saving images, saving ideas, and creating a mood board… Ultimately creating a home office you will love.

Lighting and Home Office Accents
Use a mix of natural light, bright lights, and low lighting. You will pick the lighting based on what you are working on.
For creativity, I like natural light. For sewing, you need bright light. And for working on the computer I have a side table with a lamp (low light). Picking your lighting will depend on what tasks you are working on.
Style The Office
Add decor accents: plants or artificial plants, artwork, pretty lumbar pillows, decorative boxes, and small cabinet storage…
