How to Make Honey Garlic Chicken Wings
Directions
- Season the chicken wings with salt and pepper, to your preference. Place the metal trivet inside the Instant Pot. Add one cup of water. Arrange the seasoned chicken wings on top of the trivet before securing the lid/cover in place. Switch the vent to “Sealing” and set it to the “Manual” setting for 8 minutes.
- Next, prepare the Sesame Garlic Sauce. Heat the Coconut aminos (or soy sauce), sesame oil, honey, butter, and garlic powder in a small saucepan. Do this over medium heat while stirring frequently. Cook until the butter is melted and the mixture is combined thoroughly. Remove from the heat and set it to the side.
- Once the cooking time is complete on the Instant Pot, allow the pressure to release for 10 minutes naturally. Then do a quick release for any remaining steam. Remove the lid and transfer the cooked chicken wings to a large bowl. Then set it to the side and let it cool slightly.
- Put the oven rack in the top position and preheat the broiler to high. Line a large, rimmed baking sheet with aluminum foil and place a wire cooling rack on top. Set aside.
- Pour 1/3 of the prepared honey garlic sauce on top of the chicken wings and toss to coat them. Transfer the wings to the wire rack on the prepared baking sheet. Place under the broiler for 3-4 minutes or until the wings start to get crispy (and develop some color). Turn the wings using tongs and repeat on the remaining side.
- Remove from the oven and toss the wings with half of the remaining garlic sauce. Sprinkle with sesame seeds. Serve with the remaining sauce on the side and enjoy!
