This summer we will be redoing our kitchen. When I spotted this home made & re-purposed shelf incorporating a window frame this idea was a perfect fit for my vintage jars and a few simple cherished images with a love note added in for the family. Adding a little shabby chic into our modern space is just what will give it that inspired homey feel.

I love the idea of creating  something like this to hang aprons or even tie drying herbs on. If I can’t find vintage rulers I think I will distress some to create a look similar to this. I couldn’t find the Etsy Shop that made this, the link was broken if you know who makes them please let me know so I can create them.

As long as I am going to add a splash of vintage into my modern kitchen. I will be looking for vintage Pyrex this summer at yard sales.

Lastly while at those yard sales I’ll also be looking for vintage fabrics, laces and rickrack to make the perfect apron! It doesn’t have to be new for Inspired Living re-purpose and recycle fit right in.

What has your favorite re-purpose or recycle project been? Do you have a  project post you ‘d love to share? Just email me.

  1. Ooh, I love the window idea, too! So cute! I’m the most un-crafty person ever, but when I see posts like this, it makes me want to try to do crafty-ish stuff more. 🙂
