Salmon For Salad Recipe
I used a preseasoned Applewood, Orange, and Ginger Salmon from Cedar Bay Grilling Company. It is ready to grill or bake and cooks in about 14-18 minutes.

How To Make Salmon Salad
Ingredients
- Cedar Bay Applewood Orange and Ginger Salmon
- 1 medium/large spring mix salad box (or your favorite salad greens or spinach)
- Mini Cucumbers (1 pack)
- Purple Onion
- Mandarin Oranges (fresh or in syrup)
- Champagne Vinegar
- Olive Oil
Instructions
Defrost the salmon according to the package directions (overnight or 45 minutes before baking or grilling.
Preheat the oven or grill to 425F
- Bake or grill the salmon and let it cool.
- Wash and dry the salad greens and cucumber. Thinly slice the cucumbers.
- Peel and thinly slice the purple onion.
- Prepare the mandarin oranges or (drain off the syrup if you are using canned or packaged mandarins).
- Assemble the salad (after the salmon has cooled). Top with the grilled or baked salmon. You can set the fillet on the salad whole or flaked. Make or use your favorite salad dressing.

Tips for Additional Serving Sizes
- For 2 servings: 1 small salad box, 2 mini cucumbers, 1/4 sliced purple onion, and 1-2 mandarin orange (or pack of orange slices. For dinner 2 salmon fillets.
- For 4 servings: 1 large salad box, 4 mini cucumbers, 1/2 sliced purple onion, and 2-4 mandarin oranges (or packages of orange slices. For dinner 4 salmon fillets
- For 6 servings: 2 large salad boxes, 6 mini cucumbers, 1 sliced purple onion, and 4-6 mandarin oranges (or packages of orange slices. For dinner 6 salmon fillets.
Champagne Salad Dressing Vinaigrette
- 3/4 cup of Olive Oil
- 1/4 cup of Champagne Vinegar
- salt and pepper to taste
- optional dash of garlic powder.
Make the salad dressing with champagne vinaigrette or use your favorite salad dressing. For additional servings use a 3/1 ratio.
Other salad dressing options are Asian salad dressing. Such as sesame and ginger or ginger soy.
Make salmon for a special dinner
I made a simple oil and champagne vinegar dressing with a dash of salt and pepper. It was mainly for the greens, as the salmon is seasoned and flavorful. The combination was delightful!
This salad with salmon (grilled or baked) can be served for dinner, any special occasion, or holidays such as Valentine’s Day… Serve the salmon salad by itself or as a surf and turf dinner.
