How to make Spiced Apple Cider
Ingredients you’ll need to make Spiced Apple Cider
- Apple Cider
- 1 Orange
- Brown Sugar
- 1 Cinnamon Stick (with extras for garnishing)
- Spices: whole allspice, whole cloves, black peppercorn, nutmeg
Do you like trying different versions of apple cider? Try garnishing with cinnamon or adding alcohol.
- For an alcoholic version, about 4-6 ounces of bourbon
- Cinnamon Sticks for garnish (optional)
- If you don’t like cloves or peppercorn omit and adjust recipe to suit your tastes.

Directions For Spiced Apple Cider
- Heat the apple cider in a saucepan on medium-low heat till all of the brown sugar dissolves, while stirring from time to time.
- Once the sugar has dissolved, bring the heat down
- Then add the orange pieces along with the spices.
- Cover and let it simmer for about 20 to 25 minutes.
- Strain the hot cider to catch all the spices.
- Serve in mugs or jars.
- Garnish with a cinnamon stick.
- Store leftover in a air-tight container for up to 2 days in the fridge.
- For the alcoholic version – Pour the hot apple cider into mugs and top it off with bourbon.

- 2 tablespoons of brown sugar
- 1/2 tsp of whole allspice

- A tiny pinch of nutmeg
- For an alcoholic version about 4-6 ounces of bourbon
