This recipe is easily adaptable. First you start with the basic ingredients.
Put 1 cup water, 1 cup sugar and a bag of fresh (rinsed) cranberries in a pot. That was easy enough, right! Turn on high and bring to a boil. Stir occasionally.*Do not leave spoon in pot! (I was stirring and took photo & removed.)
Once boiling immediately reduce to a simmer. Cook on a simmer for 10 minutes. That’s it! But, wait you know you want to make my Cranberry Raspberry Orange Sauce. Just add a few more steps.
Steps to make the Cranberry Raspberry Orange Cranberry Sauce;
While the cranberries are simmering for 10 minutes get out your raspberry jam and a fresh orange. Quarter your orange for juicing. Juice half into a cup and extract seeds. You’ll need half an orange. Next measure 4 Tablespoons of raspberry jam.
You’ll add this to the almost done sauce, continue to stir and let flavors meld. Turn off heat.
Your cranberry sauce should look something like this. Do not over cook. If using as a garnish on Thanksgiving you can grate orange peel on top to give it a more festive look.
Put it in your serving container and cover. Store refrigerated until needed 10- 14 days. Cranberry 101 Guidelines Want to freeze fresh whole cranberries for later or store in fridge you’ll find this fresh cranberry storage article helpful.

I am thinking orange is a great way to make cranberry sauce taste better. it is not exactly my favorite part of Thanksgiving dinner. Awesome!
Hi Cajun, Oh yes, definitely try it with other flavors it’ll change your mind or at least soften the taste where you may enjoy it.
